Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown began his career as a lawyer, specializing in
corporate, merger and acquisition, and business transactions. He later went on to earn a reputation as a highly successful Houston-based entrepreneur, who not only founded, but also bought and sold a number of privately owned firms.

 
 

Founder of the Houston Carbonic Company, Mr. Brown later sold this successful operation to Coca-Cola U.S.A.. He also founded and operated Standard Laboratories of Houston, Inc., which was subsequently sold to Hi-Port Industries, lnc. He also was chairman of a group of firms that provide business equipment, printing services, and office supplies to the Houston business community.

Additionally, he has been appointed and commissioned by the governor of the state of Texas to be a member of the Task Force on Small Business; and he was chairman of the Regulatory Subcommittee of that task force.

Currently, Mr. Brown is president and chairman of the board of the investment banking firm, Crestview Capital LLC as well as a practicing attorney. He continues to enjoy an extremely wide range of local contacts throughout Texas, as well as maintaining his close ties at the state level.

He has provided advice on a broad range of complex commercial transactions to middle market clients. In his client representation he has been responsible for the development and negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts including consulting services, technology, procurement, engineering and shareholder agreements. He provides sound and sophisticated legal advice to senior and mid-level executives. Provides strategic planning and vision with respect to current legal issues in diverse areas of commercial contracting, data privacy, sourcing, intellectual property, product and services, marketing and sales. Develop and negotiate commercial and supplier contracts including customer service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work and related transactional documents. Actively participate with clients in the development of commercial transactions.

Mr. Brown's combined expertise in the areas of law and business affords his clients with an experienced and practical professional who provides sound advice and guidance in business ventures.

He is especially well versed in the analytical evaluation of companies that are candidates for mergers and acquisitions.
